We are off and running and by the time today is over, all our teams will have played in their first tournaments of the season.
The 14U's played in their first Friendship Tournament in Longview January 5. The Purple team finished in 3rd place in the bronze division winning four out of their six matches. The Gold team played in five matches and found out where their weaknesses are and so will be working on those throughout their practices.
The 16U's were at Portland State University for their Power League Qualifier and wound up moving up in their seeding and won three out of their five matches.
The 18U's played at Mt Hood Community College in the Power League Qualifier on January 12. They came in second in their morning pool beating PDXVB first, dropping their match to Salem Red and then beating Alpine Attack to finish the morning pool play. After an almost two hour wait, they played in a three team round two pool beating ECVC in three games and then ending with a loss to Banks, finishing second in that pool. After being seeded 50th from the start, they moved up to 44th by the end of the day!! A great start for our very young 18U team!
All the coaches are very proud and even opposing coaches, were impressed by the teams playing skills and sportsmanship!
